This week we have been practicing our reading comprehension Our teacher gave us three texts to read about New Zealand things, like Waitangi Day, Monarch Butterflies, and a story about a cultural treasure. My favourite fact I learnt was that toki was used as a weapon. We had to read the texts really carefully to find answers (Retrieval), figure out what the writer meant (Inference), and put ideas together (Integrate). For each story, we had to become researchers and find the perfect photo to explain a tricky word from the text, like ‘Commemorates’ or ‘Tangible. I enjoyed Everything I did well at Everything
